Connector

Audrey Gerkin has lived and traveled all over of the United States, but loves living in New Hampshire the best. This is so she can hike in the White Mountains in the morning and lay on the beach in the afternoon. When her kids were young, she owned and managed Pickpocket Farm CSA, growing vegetables and pigs for many people, but only grows for her family and friends now with a smaller backyard garden.

Long ago she decided to work in the disability field as a Special Education teacher. These days, she is a Council Director for the NH Council for Youths with Chronic Conditions, and is excited to be a recipient of The Arc of the United States Paul Marchand Public Policy Fellowship.

When her oldest daughter was born and eventually diagnosed with Cornelia de Lange Syndrome, Audrey’s professional background complemented the skills she would need for advocating for her daughter. Because of her work and lived experience, she is always willing to help connect others with the supports and services they need. She believes people with disabilities deserve to have choices and live happy independent lives.
