A native Oregonian and resident Californian, Kristin is a natural creative with a degree in Journalism and a full-time job in being a mom. As Project Coordinator, she researches the best providers to include in our database. And as someone who always asks friends for recommendations, she hopes visiting our site feels like going to a friend.
When her son was diagnosed with brain cancer at 2½ years old, Kristin quickly realized the value of surrounding herself not only with people she loved, but with people who knew what she was going through and truly got it. Over the years, she’s fostered relationships with others who understand, and she’s learned to lean on them for support. Now, as the Special Education Chair for her town’s PTA, she’s advocating for the community she’s come to know and love. A wife and mother to two wonderful kids (and a dog), Kristin loves writing, especially as a means of processing and sharing her struggles. Her favorite pastime is playing tourist in her own area: soaking in the museums, architecture, food, and culture with her family and friends. Of course, while she’s happy to play tourist at home, she’ll never say no to a trip to Maui.
