Bridgette Garcia

Project Coordinator

An identical twin with a passion for helping others, Bridgette always knew she wanted to work in Special Education, and now, that’s exactly what she’s doing. As Project Coordinator with The Connected Parent, she researches services and providers for our database, focusing on Florida and her home state of Ohio. When she was in high school, Bridgette started providing care for older children with additional physical or behavioral needs. Over time, what began as a job turned into a passion and helped her cultivate lifelong friendships.

Now, with an undergraduate degree in Special Education for Moderate/Intensive Disabilities and a master’s degree in Special Education for Severe Disabilities, she works as a Special Education teacher at Olmstead Falls Middle School. In addition to helping teens and adults gain life skills and social opportunities, she’s volunteered with Empower Sports (a modified sports group) and currently serves as district coordinator for Helping Hands Friends Club (a disability social friendship club). When her best friend from college invited her to help out with The Connected Parent, she jumped on board! Active in just about every sense of the word.

Bridgette coaches middle school volleyball, basketball, and track; recently ran a marathon; and enjoys walking her dog while listening to true crime podcasts (ask her anything about true crime—she’s an expert). Bridgette lives with her boyfriend Travis and their dog Foster, who probably thinks she’s a person.
